Install Procedures

AccuMax takes pride in their workmanship and our installs are a work of art. If not installed correctly even the best equipment will not last and over it`s lifetime will cost the homeowner more than they expected.

Equipment installed by AccuMax will run trouble free. We are so confident of this we provide the homeowner with a 5 year labor warranty certificate besides the factory parts warranties.

Installing your new furnace:

  1. Cover flooring path to work site.
  2. Disconnect, haul away and dispose of all old equipment.
  3. Inspect new equipment; double check all equipment is correct capacity and model per estimate.
  4. Clean work area before new equipment is installed.
  5. Set new furnace and/or coil and level equipment, seal furnace top before evaporator coil is set to prevent air leaks and noise.
  6. Fabricate custom sheet metal transition to new furnace/coil using 26 gauge “mirror finish” metal. “X” metal to prevent noise and caulk as necessary.
  7. Replace electrical switch and box, run new wiring as necessary. (both 24v and 120v)
  8. Replace all drains with 3/4″ PVC and fasten to furnace and/or floor to prevent movement. Install T`s for future cleaning.
  9. Install new 26 gauge venting per code (80+) Run new PVC venting pitched 1/2″ per foot and prime all connections, cut using power saw for straight, no leak, perfect edges and connections (90+)
  10. Install new ball gas shut off valves, install drip legs, new unions, and gas lines.
  11. Braze ( we do not sweat) copper lines to evaporator coil using oxygen/acetylene torch, cover with new insulation if line set not being replaced.
  12. Attach any filter media and return drop to furnace and seal for quiet operation.
  13. Properly install any external equipment to work efficiently and in concert with the furnace/AC (humidifier, UV lights, thermostats…)
  14. Humidistats are always installed in return air duct to properly monitor whole house humidity.
  15. Make sure equipment not only works perfect but also looks as good.
  16. After completion check for gas leaks, air leaks, vacuum leaks, water leaks, condensate leaks and CO leaks using electronic detectors where applicable.
  17. Fire up equipment and test for proper operation. Set up air flow and heat rise. Test and monitor operation for minimum 1/2 hour.
  18. Explain to customer operation of all equipment, show how to use any programmable thermostats, replace water panels in humidifiers/filtering media, etc Answer any and all questions.
  19. All dust and debris created by AccuMax to be vacuumed / removed from premises at conclusion of each day”s work.
  20. All work shall be performed in a professional and workmanlike manner and shall comply with local and state building codes.


Installing your new Air Conditioner

  1. Recover and dispose of any old freon.
  2. Disconnect, haul away and dispose of old equipment.
  3. Put down and level new pad.
  4. Center and level new AC.
  5. Install new electrical whip to AC.
  6. Install new disconnect box where necessary.
  7. Install new line set as necessary.
  8. Braze (we do not sweat) all new lines and connection while running nitrogen thru lines to prevent soot build up.
  9. Install new matching evaporator and make new sheet metal as necessary.
  10. Run new 3/4″ PVC drains from evaporator.
  11. Charge refrigerant using superheat/subcooling principles.
  12. Test operation minimum1/2 hour.
  13. All dust and debris created by AccuMax to be vacuumed / removed from premises at conclusion of each day”s work.
  14. All work shall be performed in a professional and workmanlike manner and shall comply with local and state building codes.
